When this spiritual awakening occurs and you begin exploring your inner landscape, you may sense your light body as a subtle, light-filled presence within and around you.

Cultivating Metacognitive States in mindful meditation helps you to disengage from automatic thinking and reactive impulses, returning your attention to the centred, observing presence within you. While spiritual values can help you honour the wholeness of life, merely following spiritual principles alone is not the same as experiencing and embodying the light of your True Self. Aspects of your spiritual development can be overlooked as you become overly reliant on external information for your spiritual wisdom. You also risk giving your power away if you become a follower or conform indiscriminately to spiritual practices.

Ultimately, spiritual development can invite you to experience your full spiritual nature – your light body – and to express that light more consciously in everyday life.

Developing spiritual focus begins with expanding your sense of self beyond the narrow confines of personality and beyond even the physical dimension. This is best done in meditation.

As you let thoughts settle and return to your centre, you may begin to experience a sense of expansive being. From there, you can open into a deeper awareness of the underlying unity of all things – the sense of being part of a greater, multidimensional whole.

This loosens over‑identification with the ego and can make it easier to sense the subtle presence of your light body.

Clearing Inner Blocks

Clearing inner blocks is essential for receiving and holding light, as well as for raising consciousness. These blocks can take the form of limiting beliefs, negative emotions, habitual patterns, or blockages in your subtle energetic system – all of which can obscure your light.

Clearing begins by withdrawing attention and energy from these and being more discerning about where you place your attention and what you give your energy to. Mindfulness is a powerful tool for controlling your attention, regulating your emotional state, and reducing automatic reactivity. You can use it to support the clearing process.

Therapeutic practices, self‑development methods, and meditation on pure spiritual light can all support deeper clearing. Techniques such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) have been used effectively for emotional release, and many people experience significant shifts in fears, phobic responses, and addictive patterns after its use.

Visualising pure light infusing and clearing your subtle energetic system in meditation can also support this process. Meeting your resistances with commitment and enthusiasm gradually transforms them, and at times the experience can feel as if you are walking through an inner fire.

Purifying Your Mind, Body, and Energy Field

Purifying your mind, body, and energy field involves creating a sacred space around you and establishing healthy boundaries around what you allow into your life. This includes being selective about the people, influences, and online content you engage with. Withdraw your attention from anything that dims your light or pulls you out of alignment with your light body. Choose thoughts and practices that uplift and nourish your spirit.

Meditation remains one of the most effective tools for purification. In meditation, visualise light infusing your entire multidimensional being and dissolving inner impurities so that your light body can shine through more clearly. Visualise impurities as dark forms that you are transmuting and dissolving in the light.

On a physical level, exercise, rest, gentle detox practices, wholesome food, and non‑toxic products all contribute to maintaining a pure and balanced state.

Activating Your Light Body

Activating your light body begins with recognising its subtle energetic connection to your physical self. Think of it as working a bit like induction. You can receive the light of your light body more strongly by consciously attuning to it and calling it into yourself with intention and visualisation. The process is similar to tuning a radio: you act as the receiver, and the broadcast comes from your light body.

This is most effective in meditation while in a centred, Metacognitive State. Mindfulness meditation, by inducing a metacognitive state, minimises thoughts, reduces mental noise that can obscure your attunement to your light body, and creates the inner space needed for this attunement, making it one of the most effective tools for activating your light body.

Activating your light body involves infusing and purifying your whole being with light in meditation and intending that you rise into greater resonance with your light body as if you are tuning yourself to match its frequency. Meditate daily to bring into your being the purest light of the highest frequency while intending that your light body is fully integrated with your physical being.

Call in the presence of your light body in all that you do and allow your spirituality to be integrated into your actions. What you are activating is your full alignment with your light body and the deeper embodiment of your spiritual nature. Set your intention to be the pure light and to allow that light to expand so that you are anchoring spiritual light in your body and onto the planet through your light-filled presence and actions.

A simple affirmation to use with your meditation is:

I am a radiant being of light.

To be most effective, repeat your affirmation regularly with the genuine feeling of being a radiant being of light. Your affirmation serves as an anchor for your light and helps you to hold the resonance of your light body.

As you expand into your radiance of light and ground it into your physical being, you can start to hold a spiritual state of unity which can become a transformative presence to yourself and the world around you.
